Head Teacher's Welcome

Welcome to Inmans Primary School.

Welcome to Inmans Primary School. Inmans School is one of two schools that serve the pupils of Hedon, primarily drawing children from the North and West of the town. Hedon is situated in the East Riding of Yorkshire. Having been flooded on two occasions, most recently in June 2007 we were given DEFS funding for a new school to be built on our site. The building was completed in April 2011 and we moved in for the start of the Summer Term, May 2011.The new building has many sustainable features such as ground source heating, a sedum roof and modular temperature controls. It has been built to reflect the needs of the 21st Century pupils with excellent outdoor provision and state of the art ICT facilities. During their time at Inmans pupils have the opportunity to experience the creative curriculum through a topic approach with classes working together as Pods to provide a 2 year rolling program of themes. Parents are regularly invited to join us in school. In key stage 1 there are special days and events to which you will be invited to take part in activities alongside your child. Key stage 2 children present assemblies to celebrate aspects of their topic work. Seasonal school performances and Good Work Assemblies also allow parents an opportunity to join us in school. We hold termly parent evenings each year where parents have the opportunity to view pupils work, talk with their child's teacher, review progress and set new targets. We operate an open door policy at Inmans and teachers and members of the SMT are always happy to see and talk to parents if there are any concerns at all. In years 4 and 6 pupils have the opportunity to take part in a residential visit. The year 4 visit is to an outdoor centre where activities such as rock climbing and canoeing can be tried. In year 6 pupils visit Northumberland on a week long curriculum based residential. Pupils at Inmans are proud to wear their red uniform. Sweatshirts with the school logo and all other uniform can be purchased from Rawcliffes Outfitters, Paragon Street, Hull and Steadyschoolwear http://steadyschoolwear.co.uk/ We look forward to welcoming your child to our school whether they are starting with us as reception pupils or joining us in another year group.Inmans School is one of two schools that serve the pupils of Hedon, primarily drawing children from the North and West of the town.
