Community – Helping Hands

The award winning Inmans Helping Hands charity is based at our wonderful school. The charity was established in 2019 during the Covid19 pandemic, the charity was initially set-up to help our local community during lock-down; delivering hot meals, picking up shopping and collecting prescriptions and medication for the elderly and vulnerable.

In May 2021 we received an award from East Riding Council for our service and commitment during such difficult times. The charity continues to run and we offer lots of different services, working in partnership with various organisations.

We opened our community shop in 2020 and have since signed up to the Fare Share scheme which takes food, with a short shelf life, from the supermarkets and instead of heading to landfill, it is distributed to charities and community groups like us. Joining this scheme means we get to support this amazingly worthwhile initiative, everything we raise goes back into the school and our community and our community get a great deal on their food shopping every week.

8am-4.30pm

Our community shop is open to members of the local community and the parent/carers of pupils at Inmans Primary School regardless of financial income. The shop is situated in the main entrance of the school. The shop is restocked every Monday morning and will have all types of savoury snacks, preserves, tinned food, fruit and veg, toiletries, frozen goods. Most items will be 50p each, some items are 2 for 50p.
