To bring our enquiry topic on ‘Why did the Vikings and Anglo-Saxons battle for Britain?’ to a close, we had some time in an art lesson to design and create our own Viking shield, inspired by historical designs. Some children wanted to add their names or words in runes also. We think they’d make pretty fierce warriors!
