The training will take place during the school day. Please can we just ask that you make sure your child has a warm coat and hat/gloves if needed as they will be spending some time outside.
During the training, the Road Safety team introduce the idea of safe pedestrian behaviour using games, activities, role play and dress up equipment. The sessions cover: walking safely near roads with a grown up, knowing how to behave when travelling in a vehicle, how wearing bright clothing in the daytime and reflective clothing at night will help keep them safe, the need to stop and wait before crossing and understanding where to do this. The sessions comprises of some classroom input, an interactive games session then a role play session.
