In our topic history lesson today, year 4 learnt about the first Viking invasion at Lindesfarne. We thought about the view point of the Vikings and Anglo-Saxon monks before and during the invasion and learnt about some of the wording from the evidence recorded at the time maybe seemed extremely dramatic as this was from the Anglo-Saxon point of view!
We learnt a song called called ‘The Viking Invasion Song’ which was almost like a ‘conversation’ or narrative between the Anglo-Saxons and Vikings. You can see from the photos that we enjoyed getting into role of Viking warriors attacking or the Anglo-Saxon monks under attack!
