Remembrance Day

11 Nov 2023

On Friday 10th November, Year 6 visited the Hedon Cenotaph in anticipation of Remembrance Day. During this solemn occasion, the students beautifully recited the poignant poem “In Flanders Fields” by John McCrae, paying homage to those who sacrificed their lives. Displaying deep respect and understanding, the children observed a two-minute silence at 11 am, a moment of reflection and remembrance.

It is worth noting the exceptional behaviour demonstrated by Year 6 throughout the entire experience — from their arrival at the Cenotaph, during the meaningful ceremony and as they left the site. Their conduct was truly commendable. Well done, Year 6, for approaching this solemn occasion with such maturity and reverence.
