Year 2 have enjoyed exploring adaptations for polar bears today. We learned that adaptations are changes that take place over many generations. We also discovered that ‘blubber’ acts as an insulator, helping to stop polar bears from getting too cold. To investigate this, we used lard and gloves to insulate our hands from the cold in a similar way to how a polar bear’s blubber works.
A big thank you Phillipa and family for providing this specialist technology – we are very grateful!
